Product Overview
ProEMPT Technology is a flexible and scalable process engine. It consists of a foundation of application components, which contain the process rules and logic, and controls access to the ProEMPT Database. Built upon this foundation are the following applications, which share a common data store, and work in concert with each other:
ProEMPT Application
The ProEMPT Application is the web-based application end-users will use to access the ProEMPT system. It is used for starting processes, responding to action items found in the user's to do list, and running data reports.
Process Author
The Process Author is a flexible, drag and drop, rules-based design and authoring tool for creating emergency response processes. Creating a rules-based, multi-step process is as easy as point, click, drag, and fill-in-the-blank. No programming is required as Process Author automatically generates XML code in the background. Publishing the application to the ProEMPT server is as simple as clicking a button. The result is a web application that is immediately ready for use over the Internet, intranets, and wireless networks. Processes contain steps, activities, action items, escalations, expirations, and notifications; one can even branch or loop processes dependent on individual step and activity completion criteria. All of these capabilities insure that the Process Author provides the mechanisms for creating emergency response process that will meet the needs of your most demanding emergency response scenarios.
Monitoring System
The monitoring system is used to establish a connection with external systems in order to monitor and acquire data that can then be transmitted into a predetermined emergency response process to assist in the execution of that process. The monitoring system also provides a means of monitoring specified data and associating rules with that data in order to determine if and when a particular process should be initiated based on the results of the data being monitored.
View Author
View Author is the web-based report definition tool used to create dynamic data reports that can be started from within the web based ProEMPT application. The author can define user input parameters, the fields to report on, and multiple modes of selection criteria. View Author enables managers and others to construct reports that can be viewed through ProEMPT by users who are granted access.
Data Source Author
Data Source Author is the authoring tool used to create a set of data from the ProEMPT Database that's easy to understand and reuse when creating reports. The Data Source Author provides an extra layer of abstraction between the database and the user authoring a view. Some key benefits of Data Source Author are to provide "user-friendly" names for tables and columns, as well as filtering out sensitive data that shouldn't be available to everyone writing reports.
Admin Tool
Admin Tool is the application for administrators and moderators to create and maintain system configuration settings, users, groups, permissions, communities, access to resources, and other administrative functionality. ProEMPT Technology enables organizations to configure access to functionality based on each individual's role(s) and responsibilities.
