Tailor Processes to Meet Your Unique Situations

In tailoring processes for use in responding to the various needs of the emergency management community, there are many things that must be considered in order to insure the safety of the public.

In addressing these needs, the process authoring tool provides the ability to define the following components needed to respond to a specific emergency situation:
  • Define the response activities that must be performed in order to address each area of concern during a given event

  • Specify resources to be activated in response to a given scenario

  • Assign activities to resources dynamically while accounting for latest data received

  • Identify the best methods for contacting required parties, including cell phone, pagers, land lines, email, pda, etc.

  • Create a multi-step process tailored to each scenario

  • Create specific and detailed steps that fully address a given situation

  • Notify all interested parties as to the current needs and/or status of a given activity or event

  • Escalate a given activity to insure critical response-time thresholds are met.

Once the processes are created and published to the appropriate emergency response community, ProEMPT will guide the various teams responding to the situation based on the instructions set forth by the emergency manager. These instructions are then coupled with the latest data available from various external sources. These external sources may be data feeds from agencies such as the National Weather Services or local information gathered from local data systems or from various types of sensors such as chemical dectors, rain or river gages, etc. Incorporating this information with the expected activities and available resources will help determine the best course of action in responding to the event at hand.
